Magda Rodriguez, Psy.D. ::  Consultant & Trainer

Magda E. Rodriguez Gonzalez, Psy.D. began training in DBT as a graduate student at Trinitas Regional Medical Center in New Jersey in 2008.  She was intensively trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy by Charles Swenson, M.D. and Shireen Rizvi, Ph.D. and completed an Advanced Intensive training by Marsha Linehan, Ph.D. and Shari Manning, Ph.D. Dr. Rodriguez completed her postdoctoral fellowship with DBT treatment developer Marsha Linehan, Ph.D. at the Behavioral Research and Therapy Clinics (Dr. Linehan’s research lab) at the University of Washington from 2009-2011.  There she served as a research therapist and clinic coordinator.  She works at the Behavior Therapy Center of Greater Washington, a highly regarded group practice in the Washington DC area where she offers individual DBT and other cognitive behavioral treatments to adolescents and adults. She is fluent in Spanish, specializes in multiculturalism and exposure treatment for anxiety disorders.In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Rodriguez trains clinicians in the use of DBT, treatment of the Hispanic population and program development as a contractor and consultant. Furthermore, Dr. Rodriguez consults health organizations to assist in the implementation of patient center medical home models and is often responsible for reviewing and assuring that DBT translated materials are properly translated before use in research or research provided internationally.
