“I thoroughly enjoyed and learned from this training. This was a review for me as I have completed an Intensive Training in the past. Shari was great at clarifying concepts that I found confusing in the past, and giving examples. I found her enthusiasm and love for DBT to be energizing and motivating."
"Very beneficial in helping DBT therapists at various levels."
"Shari is an excellent trainer! Very easy to follow, does an excellent job of engaging audience. I felt like I learned a lot and have a plethera of really helpful information to take back to my team."
"I feel confident that the information that I have learned will greatly enhance my abilities as a DBT therapist."
"This was an awesome experience. The experiential role plays were very helpful. I look forward to participating in future workshops. Thanks for the informative and fun weekend."
"This was just the DBT lift I needed. I feel more motivated."
"Shari is a great teacher and I learn when she demonstrates in role play, it lets me see in action things that I have read about. I learned in a way that I did not experience with [another training organization]. I needed to build on the basics I learned at [another training organization]."
“You [Helen] were a tremendous presence and so on top of everything. The whole experience was top notch. A+ all around.”
“I recently participated in the Advanced DBT training online this spring and in Connecticut 2 weeks ago with Charlie Swenson and it was an outstanding experience. I have never been to a more practical, useful and "on level" training of this caliber. We were able to bring real life issues we experienced doing DBT to the training and Charlie gave us real life answers in the form of role plays, demonstrations, and collaborative discussions. It was so stimulating on so many levels -- I didn't want it to end. I am excited to see the other TIC offerings and so pleased to have this addition to the DBT training community.”
“As one of the very lucky participants in the advanced course that Helen is referring to, I want to emphasize what a powerful and amazing training it was. Those of us who attended the workshop with Charlie in Connecticut at the end of June were treated to insights, role plays, videos and thoughtful discussions amongst many well trained and dedicated professionals that exceeded all of our expectations. Charlie’s many “nuggets of wisdom” will continue to guide my work and the work of those I train for a very long time. My teammates and I are still talking about all that we learned and we are trying our best to find ways to pass along the many wonderful lessons. If you can partake in any of the trainings offered by the Treatment Implementation Collaborative, I would highly recommend that you do so.”
“Thanks, and again, I want you to know how pleased I was with the training, especially the two-day in-person. My team came back more enthused than ever about the work that we do and I know that our clients will reap the benefits. I certainly will keep you all in mind for future trainings.”
“I want to thank you for your efforts in organizing this wonderful training. It was truly a step or two beyond other "advanced" trainings I have been to!”
“The workshops have been wonderful and I just wanted to make sure that you heard the appreciation for all the hard work you too put in to make such a spectacular event happen. I am excited to participate in the next round of groovy stuff you guys produce. You are amazing people and professionals. Thanks from a grateful participant.”
“Thank you for all of your work on this training and all of your work creating TIC. The training was fantastic and, for the first time since my intensive in 2004, I actually feel like I'm doing DBT!”
“I just wanted you know that we were very impressed with the 2 day training in CT. The webinar portion was informative, but honestly the conference blew it out of the water. It was one of the best trainings that any of us have attended, DBT or otherwise. It was so nice to not just mindlessly stare at power point handouts for two days and feel inundated with information. The role plays, the videos, the discussions were all excellent. Partly we had a really good group of people there who were all wanting to learn and participate equally with everyone else. Mostly though, Charlie, did a fantastic job of facilitating the discussions and offering insights and encouraging participation. It was relaxed, yet action packed at the same time. All of us having attended many trainings over the years were very pleased to have attended this one and it even made the two hour delay on the GW Bridge to get there and the traveling through tornado storms on the way home totally worth it. Obviously the formats and structures that you guys are putting together at TIC are working quite well. Keep up the good work and I’m sure you will be seeing us again.”
